Support at Home: What’s Changing in Aged Care (and Why It’s Good News)

Read Time – hello from the saved content!

The Australian Government is launching the Support at Home program on 1 November 2025, replacing Home Care Packages. Support at Home brings all in‑home aged‑care services under one roof, making it easier to get the help you need to live safely and comfortably at home.

What’s new?

  • Eight funding levels, so your budget matches your needs more precisely.
  • Clinical and nursing services are fully funded, leaving more of your budget for day‑to‑day supports.
  • Fees are pay‑as‑you‑go; no daily charges just for holding a package.
  • Extra pathways for restorative care, assistive technology and end‑of‑life support.

What does this mean for you?

A smoother assessment, a flexible support plan and confidence that your care can adapt as your needs change. If you already have or are waiting for an HCP, your funding will transition automatically and you will not be worse off. Talk to Upwards Living to learn how we can tailor your plan under Support at Home.
